Biography
Pierre David Guetta, born on November 7, 1967 in Paris, is a French DJ and record producer. He began his career at age sixteen at the Broad Club in Paris and has performed in various clubs since the early 1980s.
His first single, Up & Away, was released in 1992, followed by his first album Just A Little More Love in 2002. His career took off in the late 2000s with the Euro Dance revival, marked by successful collaborations with artists such as Kelly Rowland, Ludacris, and Sia.
The album One More Love (2009) propelled him internationally with hits like When Love Takes Over, Gettin' Over You, Sexy Bitch, and Memories. He followed with Nothing but the Beat (2011) and tracks such as Where Them Girls At, Little Bad Girl, Without You, Titanium, and Turn Me On. In 2018, he released the album 7 with collaborations including J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo, Sia, and G-Eazy.
He sometimes uses the aliases Jack Back and Jack Hisbach, with twelve tracks under that name on the album 7. In 2019, he launched the “future rave” movement with Morten Breum, leading to the EP New Rave in July 2020. He collaborated again with Sia in September 2020 for Let's Love.
Voted number one in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs in 2011, 2020, and 2021, he also saw When Love Takes Over (with Kelly Rowland) named the best dance-pop collaboration of all time by Billboard in 2013. He has won two Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, and one Billboard Music Award. In June 2021, he sold his music catalog for about 100 million dollars.
His work, spanning house, dance, electronic, club, techno, and EDM, has generated over 10 million albums and 65 million singles sold, with more than 14 billion streams.
