Biography
Afrojack, born Nick Leonardus van de Wall, is a Dutch music producer and DJ from Spijkenisse.
He founded his own label, Wall Recordings, in 2007, which led to releases such as “Don’t Be”, “Proper Introduction” and “Thief”. Recognized for his production skills, he collaborated with international artists like David Guetta, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Laidback Luke and Steve Angello.
His club comeback in 2008 with “Math” and “Do My Dance” drew attention, and the remix “Drop Down (Do My Dance)” made with The Partysquad became his first Dutch chart hit that year.
The track Take Over Control, featuring Dutch singer Eva Simons, achieved international success. In December 2010 he announced and released the album Lost & Found.
2011 saw several major collaborations: an acclaimed remix of the single “Last Night” by Ian Carey and Snoop Dogg, a contribution to Pitbull‘s number-one hit “Give Me Everything” with Ne-Yo and Nayer, and involvement on Beyoncé’s single Run the World (Girls). In January 2012 he received a European Border Breakers Award.
Through Wall Recordings, Afrojack also supported other Dutch house artists such as R3hab and Sidney Samson. His influence in electronic music was reflected in the DJ Mag rankings: 19th in 2010, 7th in 2011 and 9th in 2012.
