Pulsedriver
Biography
Behind the Pulsedriver project is Slobodan Petrovic Jr., a DJ and producer born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin.
His DJ career began in 1990 in clubs in northern Germany, where he played various styles before being drawn to house, techno and especially trance; the latter gave him the energy needed to overcome the difficult startup phase.
His urge to produce led him to release his first track Aqualoop – Twilight Zone in 1995, which quickly became a club anthem. The Pulsedriver project was born in November 1997, offering a harder, more powerful and energetic form of trance.
The single Rhythmic Trip impacted the international club and rave scene, and subsequent releases like Timemachine and I'm Rushing established Pulsedriver as a permanent club scene presence. Commercial success came with Kiss That Sound / Something For Your Mind, paving the way for German chart entries with tracks such as I Dominate U, Take U High and Your Spirit Is Shining.
The single Cambodoa / Recycle achieved significant success in European charts, reaching for example number 11 in Germany and number 5 in Austria. To date Pulsedriver has released 12 singles and 2 albums, all of which entered the official charts.
His innovative style, sometimes called Trancecore because of its fast tempo, earned him the title of best German remixer in 2002 and 2003. His remixes helped artists such as Kim Wilde, Milk Inc., Lasgo, Vengaboys, Brooklyn Bounce and Fragma regain chart success.
In the early 2000s he founded his own label, Aqualoop Records, which became one of Germany’s most successful independent record companies, with more than 20 official chart entries.
