Biography

Milk Inc. is a Belgian dance group founded in 1996 as a studio project by three producers: Regi Penxten, Ivo Donckers and Filip Vandueren. The band debuted on the underground label Dance Opera.

In 1997 the track La Vache, featuring vocals by Jade 4 U (alias Nikkie Van Lierop), achieved significant success in France and was released under the group name “La Vache” for that market. The same year the single Free Your Mind was issued.

In 1998, with new singer Ann Vervoort, the group released the single Inside Of Me and the album Apocalypse Cow under the name “La Vache.” The major breakthrough came in December with In My Eyes, which reached number 2 on the Belgian charts; at that point the band name was permanently changed to “Milk Inc.”.

Success continued in Belgium with the singles Promise (1999) and Walk On Water (2000), the latter reaching number one.

[p]In September 2000 Ann Vervoort left the group and was replaced by Linda Mertens, who became the lead singer. Their second album, Land Of The Living, was released in November of the same year, with Livin' a Lie as the first single.

The following years were marked by a string of hit singles in Belgium: Never Again (2001), Wide Awake (2001), Sleepwalker (2002), Breathe Without You (2002) and Time (2003).

In 2003 the group released a cover of The Sun Always Shines On TV and the album Closer, which includes the duet I Don't Care with Silvy de Bie (of Sylver) and the instrumental Blown Away. For the first time Regi Penxten provided vocals on the ballad Maybe alongside Linda.

In 2004 the singles I Don't Care and Whisper were major hits, with Whisper reaching number one in Belgium. The band also released its first DVD that year.

Over the years the group’s members or collaborators have included Regi Penxten, John Miles Jr., Ivo Donckers, Ann Vervoort, Filip Vandueren, Linda Mertens, Nikkie Van Lierop, Karine Boelaerts and Sofie Winters. Milk Inc. became one of Belgium’s best‑selling artists and most popular live headliners. The group took a break from 2014 to 2024. In 2025 Filip Vandueren announced he was leaving the group.
