Interactive
Biography
Interactive is a German electronic music group founded in 1990. It is widely recognized by old‑school ravers worldwide and helped shape the early techno scene.
The group comprises founding members Jens Lissat, Ramon Zenker and Marc Innocent. Andreas Schneider joined later and Chrizzy Gee (alias Christopher van Holt) became part of the project in 2007.
Jens Lissat, a DJ active on the scene since the late 1970s, found success with Interactive: the single Who is Elvis entered the German charts directly.
Ramon Zenker, a producer alongside Lissat, is the only member who has remained continuously in the group. He had earlier success with the track French Kiss, which reached the Top 10 in Germany.
Marc Innocent was mainly responsible for the lyrics and had collaborated with Zenker as early as 1988 under the pseudonym Friends of Mr. Cairo on the track The Caravan.
The group peaked in popularity with their cover of Forever Young, which was certified gold. Their debut album, “Touche”, was released in 1995 and mixes remakes with original compositions.
Their style evolved through hardcore, techno and hard trance and later incorporated more commercial trance sounds. The founding members still perform at classic raves.
Separately, Ramon Zenker and Andreas Schneider founded the project Perplexer. Chrizzy Gee contributes to the group on keyboards, vocals, live performances and production, having produced a remix, for example, for Lissat&Voltaxx.
