Dash Berlin
Biography
Dash Berlin is a Dutch electronic music project formed in 2007 in The Hague by producers Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn. The duo, also known as Pronti & Kalmani, have extensive experience on the international dance scene and contributed to platinum-certified hits for artists such as Alice Deejay, Vengaboys and Solid Sessions; their production Better Off Alone was one of the early trance tracks to achieve major success in the United States and was later sampled by major artists like David Guetta.
They collaborated with Sander Kleinenberg on tracks such as This Is Miami and produced award-winning remixes for Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, BT and Röyksopp.
Shortly after the project’s creation, Jeffrey Sutorius (aka Jeff Bounce) was recruited as frontman and DJ, forming a trio; Dash Berlin reached broad public recognition, ranking seventh in DJ Mag’s Top 100 in 2012.
In June 2018, Jeffrey Sutorius announced his separation from Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn and their agency, citing management issues; he then began performing and releasing music under his own name.
In March 2019 Kalberg and Molijn released the first Dash Berlin single without Sutorius; a joint statement in June 2019 said Molijn and Kalberg left the project to focus on new musical challenges, leaving Jeffrey Sutorius as the solo artist behind Dash Berlin.
Following a legal dispute over the “Dash Berlin” trademark, a court ruling in March 2021 ordered the transfer of the brand back to the former partners: since 17 March 2021 Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn have been the legal owners of the Dash Berlin name, while Jeffrey Sutorius announced he would continue his career under his own name.
Since 2022 Ryan Fieret is the group’s new frontman, the project again led by founding duo Kalberg and Molijn.
