Roxanne Emery

Biography

Roxanne Emery, a singer-songwriter based in London, was born on 4 October 1984 in Southampton.

After studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Warwick, she worked as a trader in finance before leaving that field last autumn to devote herself full-time to music and relocating to Manchester.

An accomplished musician, she is a Grade 8 pianist and a clarinettist; she is the younger sister of DJ and producer Gareth Emery, with whom she shared an apartment.

Her musical career began by lending her voice to the duo Cosmic Gate; she now writes and produces much of her own material.

Her first single, Real, was released on 8 November on De Angelis Records and is taken from her debut album, Remember Me, scheduled for the following year.

Produced by Anthony Galatis and Rick Barraclough and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig, the album is presented as a collection of subtle, refined pop songs with gentle melodies and a clear voice; Roxanne Emery has performed at Alexandra Palace.
