Sandy Chambers
Biography
Sandra “Sandy” Chambers, born in 1967 in the United Kingdom, is a defining voice of 1990s eurodance.
She began her career as a backing vocalist for the collective Dance World Attack (DWA), alongside figures such as Roberto Zanetti, Double You (William Naraine) and Alexia (Alessia Aquilani). At the same time, she launched her own solo projects, Netzwerk and Babyroots.
In 1994 she released her first single under her own name, “Everybody’s Dancing”, followed in 1995 by “Bad Boy” for DWA, which became a hit in Europe and Canada.
That same year, she took over as lead singer for two major groups, J.K. and Corona, succeeding Jenny B. (Giovanna Bersola). This period brought her to a new level of visibility and led to close collaborations with many legends of the italo-dance scene, including Roberto Zanetti, Larry Pignagnoli, Davide Riva, Roberto Turatti, Alberto Carpani, Annerley Gordon and Clara Moroni.
She thus contributed to the production of an impressive number of quality italo-dance tracks in the mid-1990s, while also writing and performing the songs.
Sandy Chambers left the Corona project in 1998, then focusing on her family and a new career in jazz, as well as radio and television commercials.
In the early 2000s, she returned to dance music by working for Roby Benvenuto’s company, recording many tracks for international markets and releasing them mainly on compilations. She also made new connections with the X-Energy team, collaborating in particular with Benny Benassi (Marco Benassi).
