Benny Benassi
Biography
Marco Benassi, known by the stage name Benny Benassi, is an Italian DJ and producer, born 13 July 1967 in Milan (or Reggio Emilia according to sources).
He usually works in the studio with his cousin Alle Benassi; the duo, active since the late 1980s in their hometown, also release tracks as Benassi Bros. and albums under the name Benny Benassi.
In the mid-1990s they joined Larry Pignagnoli’s Off Limits production studio and created music for artists such as Whigfield, J.K. and Ally & Jo.
His first major international hit was I Feel So Fine, released in 2001 under the KMC project with vocals by Dhany. After evolving from eurohouse to electro, he had another global hit with the single Satisfaction in 2003–2004; the track reached No. 2 on the UK Top 75, notably after the label Ministry of Sound replaced the original video with a version featuring models using power tools.
Several of his singles performed well on the British charts and were widely played in clubs worldwide; Benny Benassi is also known for remixes of contemporary artists like Tomcraft and Fischerspooner.
He recently founded his own label, Pump-Kin Music, aimed at promoting unsigned producers and giving visibility to lesser-known DJ and production talent around the world.
