Tomcraft

Tomcraft is the stage name of German DJ and producer Thomas Brückner, born on June 12, 1975 in Munich and deceased on July 15, 2024.

His career began in 1994 in Munich clubs, where he played a mix of techno and emerging progressive trance. His first release, “This Is No House”, came out the following year.

In 1996, he met the influential producer Eniac (Robert Bormann), forming a prolific production duo. Their collaboration yielded tracks like “Viva”, “The Mission”, “The Lord”, or “The Circle”.

The track “Prosac”, created in 1996, achieved commercial success only upon its re-release in 2001. The year 2002 marked a peak with the release of Loneliness, a progressive track with vocals that reached number one on the charts in the United Kingdom.

The financial success of this hit allowed him to found his own label, Great Stuff Recordings, followed by Craft Music in 2005. His track “Overdose” was included in the soundtrack of the film *Party Monster* (2003) due to its thematic links to drug use.

Renowned for his remix work, Tomcraft crafted versions for artists such as BBE (“7 Days and One Week”), Futureshock (“Late at Night”), Simple Minds (“Spaceface”), Pet Shop Boys (“Flamboyant”), or Dave Gahan (“Bottle Living”).

In 2001, he was nominated for an ECHO Award in the Best Dance Act category. In 2003, he won three German Dance Awards for Best Album, Best Radio Hit, and Best Dance Track.

Alongside his studio career, Tomcraft established himself as a highly sought-after international DJ, regularly performing at major German events like MAYDAY, LOVE PARADE, ENERGY, or NATURE ONE. He also toured in the United States, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, across Europe, and in major UK clubs like The Gallery, Godskitchen, Tangled, or Promise.

He is also known under the following name variations and aliases: DJ Tomcraft, Tom Craft, Thomas Brückner, TC, as well as numerous other spellings like DJ Tom Tomcraft or Tomkraft.
