Niels Van Gogh
Biography
Niels Van Gogh is a DJ and producer based in Augsburg, Germany. His career began as a resident DJ at the Pleasure Domes in Augsburg, where his sets quickly won over audiences and expanded his fan base.
His breakthrough came in 1998 with the track Pulverturm, which reached the Top 20 of the German singles sales charts, earned a gold record in Belgium and sold over 20,000 vinyl copies worldwide; the success was crowned with the German Dance Award in 2000. The track became a club classic and a 2007 remix reached No. 1 on European club charts.
His career has taken him on worldwide tours with performances in renowned clubs and festivals such as Tomorrowland, Mayday, Nature One, Street Parade and Rave on Snow, as well as dates in South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Thailand, Russia and Israel.
He collaborated on numerous projects, including City Sneakerz with Eric Smax and Thomas Gold for the Ministry of Sound label; his single House Arrest became the soundtrack for a Chio Chips commercial.
His remix of Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan — Silence — reached No. 1 on both European club charts and Beatport, earning him Beatport’s ‘Best Progressive House’ award in 2009. The same year he signed with Scream & Shout Recordings and released the single Dreamer, which remained in the Top 10 of club charts for weeks.
Further collaborations followed with Ramon Zenker (aka Emilio Verdez) and the Global Deejays. He released many tracks on international labels such as Spinnin’ Records, Cr2 and Doorn Records, and produced remixes for Plastik Funk, Tom Novy, Milk & Sugar, Lissat & Voltaxx, Schiller and Tomcraft.
He is also responsible for the successful compilations ‘We Love House’ and ‘We Love Electro’. His single Pullover, released on Doorn Records, received massive support from international DJs such as David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, R3hab and Sander van Doorn, and reached the Top 10 of the DMC charts in the United Kingdom.
