Biography

Peter Luts (real name Peter Gaston Louis Luts) is a Belgian producer and DJ, born on 14 December 1971 in Heusden-Zolder, Limburg.

His music career began at the age of 12 with a small organ, before he bought his first synthesizer and started composing his own tracks. Influenced by artists such as Depeche Mode and Jean Michel Jarre as well as Belgium’s thriving club scene, he moved towards dance music. His first album, “Plato”, was an ambient project.

Spotted for his talent by manager Stefan Wuyts, founder of A&S Productions, he released his first track there, Heliac, which became a major hit in European clubs. Peter Luts is best known as one of the driving forces behind the successful dance group Lasgo, alongside singer Evy and keyboardist David Vervoort. The group, known for tracks such as Something, Alone and Pray, has sold over one million records and achieved success in Europe and the United States.

He also produced most of the tracks on the last album by Ian Van Dahl, released in more than 60 countries. Among his many other projects with distinct sounds are Abnea, Heliac, Outrowz, Groovewatchers and Astroline, the latter achieving notable success in Belgium and internationally.

Alongside his work as a producer, Peter Luts is a DJ whose sets have set a standard. He has also delivered numerous remixes of international hits, including Eternity by Vincent de Moor, several tracks by Ian Van Dahl and Milk Inc., U R My Love by Kate Ryan, The One by Dee Dee, as well as remixes for artists such as Delerium, Atomic Kitten, Driftwood, Zornik and Praga Khan.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many artists such as DJ Philip, Des Mitchell and Jimmy Goldschmitz to write tracks that became classic club anthems, demonstrating a constant appetite for chart-aware productions with international potential.
