Ian Van Dahl

Biography

Ian Van Dahl is a Belgian vocal trance group formed in 2000, founded by producer Erik Vanspauwen and singer-songwriter Martine Theeuwen (Marsha), joined by producer Christophe Chantzis. Subsequently, singer Annemie Coenen replaced Martine Theeuwen, and producers Peter Luts and David Vervoort (also known as Dave McMullen) joined the group.

Their first single, Castles in the Sky (2001), gained attention in Europe and sold 400,000 copies that year. Among their other popular tracks are Will I? and Inspiration. The group released two albums under the name Ian Van Dahl: “Ace” and “Lost and Found”. Annemie Coenen co-wrote and co-produced all songs on the second album “Lost and Found” and wrote many lyrics for the first album “Ace”. She also composed for the group Lasgo, including the number-one hit Surrender. Peter Luts performed some remixes on the first Ian Van Dahl album and then co-produced the entirety of the second album. He is also known for his productions and remixes for other artists like Lasgo and Dee Dee.

In 2008, the group changed its name to Annagrace, retaining only members Annemie Coenen and Peter Luts. Their third album, marking their debut under this new alias, was released in 2010. The project has also been known under various spelling variants and aliases, such as I.V.D, IVD, or Ivan Van Dahl.
