Biography

Zafrir, whose real name is Zafrir Ifrach, is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and electronic music producer from Sderot, Israel.

He began his musical journey in elementary school, learning to play a wide range of instruments such as guitar and piano. His interest in traditional and ethnic music from around the world later led him to study and master authentic instruments including the Celtic harp, the Persian tar, the Turkish oud, the santur, and the Greek bouzouki.

In the early 2010s, he launched the Zafire project, devoted to world music blending Mediterranean and ethnic influences, before moving toward the international electronic scene.

In 2018, he broke through with the track United, created in collaboration with Armin Van Buuren, Alok, and Vini Vici. He later teamed up again with Alok on Vale Vale, which was selected for the soundtrack of the video game Free Fire.

On stage, Zafrir delivers a live DJ set during which he plays many instruments simultaneously, adding distinctive musical colors to the world of electronic music.
