Biography

Timothy Jude Smith, known professionally as Timmy Trumpet, is an Australian musician, DJ, producer and composer, born in Sydney on 9 June 1982.

He transitioned from an acclaimed international jazz career to the global dance music scene and is now recognized as a DJ-instrumentalist, playing live trumpet solos during his electronic sets.

A very active performer, he plays over 200 shows a year at major festivals and superclubs, earning the nickname Australia’s busiest DJ; he has performed at Pacha in Ibiza and at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Signed to the Ministry of Sound label, three of his recent singles reached number one on the ARIA Club chart; he has also produced mixes for Ministry of Sound and Pacha compilations.

His music blends electro house, hardstyle and psytrance with distinctive jazz elements. He has shared bills or opened for artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Fedde le Grand, Fatboy Slim and The Stafford Brothers, with whom he appeared regularly on the FOX8 reality show The Stafford Brothers.

He was ranked among Australia’s top three DJs in the ITM survey and topped the inthemix DJ Awards in 2015.
