Cascada
Biography
Cascada is a German dance music project founded in 2004. Originally a trio consisting of singer Natalie Horler and German producer-DJs Yanou (real name Yann Peifer) and DJ Manian (Manuel Reuter). The project was initially called ‘Cascade’, a name visible on early pressings of the single Miracle, before being changed to ‘Cascada’ for legal reasons.
Their first single, Miracle, was released in Germany in March 2004; its success attracted the attention of US label Robbins Entertainment, which released the track Everytime We Touch in the United States in December 2005. This cover of a Maggie Reilly song became a worldwide hit, reaching number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 in the UK.
The debut album, Everytime We Touch, was issued in 2006; it reached number 67 on the US Billboard 200 and number 2 on the UK charts. Eight singles were released from it, including Bad Boy, How Do You Do and a cover of Truly, Madly, Deeply.
The second album, Perfect Day, came out in late 2007; its lead single, What Hurts The Most, reached number 1 on the US Hot Dance Airplay chart. The following album, Evacuate The Dancefloor (2009), produced the title single that became the group’s first UK number 1.
In October 2024, after the release of their fifth studio album Studio 24, Yanou and DJ Manian left the project; Cascada then became a solo project led by Natalie Horler.
