Nikster

Biography

Nikster (real name: Niklas Werner; born 19 September 2001 in Wildeshausen) is a German DJ and music producer from Oldenburg.

Before focusing on production, he played drums in a school band. He started producing in 2018 thanks to a friend and taught himself FL Studio via YouTube. His first productions were slap house.

Among his early releases, Fade Away reached one million Spotify streams. Alongside other releases, mainly on Beat Dealer and Playbox, he collaborated with Empyre One, Niklas Dee and Sonny Wern. His remix of Einmal um die Welt has more than 25 million streams.

In late 2023, he released—together with Noisetime and Stevio—a remix of Echt by Glasperlenspiel, highlighted by DJ Magazine as the “EDM release of the week”. In January 2024, the track entered the official German singles chart.

He also released on W&W’s Rave Culture label a reinterpretation of Faithless’ classic Insomnia, titled Restricted. The track reached the Beatport charts in the Mainstage category and was used by several DJs: it appeared regularly in Timmy Trumpet’s live sets and was frequently played by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Mandy, Mattn and Lari Luke on the main stages of Tomorrowland and Parookaville.

Nikster also became known for remixes of German pop hits and songs tied to the European Championship. He produced new versions of tracks by Bierkapitän, Luca-Dante Spadafora and Aditotoro, released via Universal. A techno version of Du bist schön by Alligatoah was also released.
