Biography

Markus Schulz is a German-American DJ and record producer, born 3 February 1975 and based in Miami, Florida. He is widely known for his weekly radio show “Global DJ Broadcast”, broadcast on Digitally Imported radio, ah.fm and other online stations.

He founded the label Coldharbour Recordings as well as Schulz Music Group (SMG), an artist management company. In September 2012, DJ Times named him America’s number one DJ.

In early 2013, after several spontaneous back-to-back performances, he and Ferry Corsten announced the EDM group New World Punx, debuting with an arena show at Madison Square Garden.

Under his own name, he has released 15 mix compilations and seven studio albums. He also releases music under the alias Dakota, including the albums “Thoughts Become Things”, “Thoughts Become Things II” and “The Nine Skies”.

As a remixer, he has worked on tracks connected to artists and projects such as Depeche Mode, Madonna, Everything but the Girl, Jewel, Oceanlab, Gabriel & Dresden, Télépopmusik, Fatboy Slim, Miro, Book of Love, Blue Amazon and PQM. His remixes of Intuition and Stand both reached number one on the Billboard club chart.

His seventh studio album, “We Are The Light”, was released on 12 October 2018.
