Oceanlab
Biography
Oceanlab is a vocal trance group formed in London in 2000. The project brings together vocalist Justine Suissa and the three members of Above & Beyond: Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki.
Their first single, Clear Blue Water, was released in 2001 and received a notable remix by Ferry Corsten. The following single, Sky Falls Down (2002), was remixed by Armin Van Buuren. In 2003, Beautiful Together appeared with remixes by Seraque, Silvester and Signum. Their fourth single, Satellite, released in 2004, is considered their breakthrough.
The debut album, Sirens of the Sea, was announced in June 2008 for release on 21 July that year. The single Sirens of the Sea was issued on 7 April 2008 with remixes by Sonorous, Cosmic Gate and Kyau & Albert. The single Miracle was released on 14 July 2008, a week before the album, featuring club versions by Above & Beyond and remixes by Martin Roth, Michael Cassette and Fletch.
In 2009, Sirens of the Sea: Remixed compiled the most popular remixes of their three key tracks: Satellite, Sky Falls Down and Clear Blue Water.
On 30 January 2014, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki confirmed the name Oceanlab would no longer be used for future productions, Justine Suissa being identified as part of Above & Beyond. However, on 26 September 2015, Above & Beyond unveiled a surprise new Oceanlab production at ABGT150 in Sydney, Australia: the trance single Another Chance.
