Biography
Maggie is a pseudonym of Paolo De Angelis, also known as Paul Jockey, active in electronic music (italodance, house, electro house and pop-dance).
In 2007, after several successful years in commercial dance hits, Paul Jockey launched the project Criminal Vibes. The project broke through with What You Say, an electro house track produced with “No Label” by Stefano Noferini. He followed it with Take It Easy, featuring Irish vocalist Kilian, which became a hit in European charts.
A busy period followed with remixes for labels such as King Street, Work Records (Spinnin), D-Noy Muzik, Deeperfect and S2G Productions. Productions include Caribe, Say I'm gonna be your boy (with vocalist Luciana Caporaso), Little More (with Stefano Noferini), and Jeannie (Excuse me Mr. DJ), a remake connected to the show “I Dream of Jeannie”. Other releases include Saxone, featured in the playlist of “Release Yourself” by Roger Sanchez, plus Bring the Beat, San Salvador (No. 3 on Beatport’s House chart), La Voca, Queen of Chinatown, The Colegiala, and Another Brick in the Wall (No. 1 on the DjTunes Main Chart). He also released progressive house tracks such as Body to Body (No. 13 on Beatport’s progressive house chart) and Monkey Chop. On Spinnin’ Records, he put out a pop-dance track featuring N.U.M. titled Save Me.
In 2012, Criminal Vibes placed new tracks in global charts: in April Mambo No. 5 reached the top twenty of the Beatport House Chart; in May Pump Up The Jam hit No. 6; in July Easy Lover (on Loudbit) reached No. 4.
In 2013, Sweet Dreams reached No. 1 on the DjTunes Main Chart. The same year brought further chart entries: Song 2 (No. 2), Calabria (No. 1), Finally (No. 3) and Do It! (No. 7).
In 2014, I Need A Miracle (No. 2 on Beatport) and Push The Feeling On (No. 3 on the Beatport House Chart) were played by many radio shows worldwide. He then partnered with M2O, airing on “Kunique Radio Show”.
In 2015, after releasing Take Me Away and Pump It Up, he worked closely with Loubit Records. In October, during the Amsterdam Tour, he played at official ADE parties, presenting Keep Pushing (French label Jango Music) and Have Fun (Electro Scene, Baccanali’s official label).
In 2016, Paul Jockey created his official radio show “Disco Club”, on-air in more than 30 countries. With his friend Gary Caos he produced Move Your Body (January, Casa Rossa Records). In March, during the Winter Music Conference, he played four parties in Miami; that period led to Clap Your Hands with Gary Caos, released in May on Casa Rossa. In June he signed with Fabrizio Laurenti International Management. That summer, during IMS, he played multiple gigs in Ibiza, presenting Modern Family, released in September on Jango Music.
In 2017, Black Lizard Records released the tribe-house track Tambosae, supported by international DJs such as Bob Sinclar, Gregor Salto and Tommy Trash. Paul Jockey joined Mud Agency for Italian bookings. In March 2017, Abosede came out on Area 94 Records, a tribe-house collaboration with Federico Scavo. In May, Walking was released on Kaisen Records. In summer he released a tribe-house track with his friend Nicola Fasano titled La Cumbia De La Barra, reaching the top 15 of Beatport’s “F / G / Jacking House” chart and supported by DJs including Gregor Salto, Kryder and Ummet Ozcan. He closed the year with a funky-house cover of “Ladies Night” by Kool & The Gang, made with singer Ruben Coco; it remained for three months in sales rankings and was supported by Fatboy Slim and other DJs.
In 2018, still charting with Ladies Night, he prepared new projects on labels including Route 75 and Black Lizard, plus collaborations with Total Freedom and HouseU Records. At the same time, Paul Jockey continued touring across Europe, the United Arab Emirates, North America and Eastern countries such as Russia, Siberia, Ukraine and Albania.
