Biography

Tommy Trash, real name Thomas Matthew Olsen, is an Australian producer and DJ born on November 15, 1987, in Bundaberg, Queensland, and now based in Los Angeles.

A major figure in the Australian electronic scene, he quickly dominated charts and dancefloors with over forty original tracks and remixes. His single Need Me To Stay was one of his biggest hits, earning him an ARIA Awards nomination for Best Dance Release and reaching number 14 on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart and number 2 on the ARIA Club Chart.

He is also in high demand for his remixes, having reworked compositions by artists such as Lady Sovereign, Kaskade, Green Velvet, and Armand Van Helden. His versions climbed to the top of the charts, once simultaneously holding the first and second positions on the ARIA Club Chart.

He contributed to mixing several iconic compilations for Ministry of Sound, like Electro House Sessions One and Two, as well as Sessions Six, which reached number one on the ARIA Compilation Chart and the iTunes Album Chart.

Renowned for his energetic sets, he performs regularly at clubs and festivals across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Europe, including events like Good Vibrations, Stereosonic, Future Music Festival, and God’s Kitchen.

He is sometimes credited under the aliases Thomas Olsen, Tommy Trash, or Tommy Trash.
