Biography

Ina Christine Wroldsen, born 28 May 1984 in Sandefjord, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in London.

Her career began as an artist before she shifted to writing for others. She became one of the most in-demand songwriters internationally, winning multiple BMI/ASCAP awards and earning nominations for the BRIT Awards and the Spellemannprisen.

She has written for many top artists, including Shakira, Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit, Zara Larsson, David Guetta, Britney Spears, Little Mix and One Direction. Her publishing interests were represented by Reverb Music/Reservoir Media Management from 2013 to 2018, and by Warner Chappell Music since 2018.

Alongside this, she pursued a career as an artist. She forms the electropop duo Ask Embla with Icelandic producer and composer Arnthor Birgisson; together they released the album *Northern Lights* in Norway in 2013.

Under her own name, she released the singles “Aliens (Her er jeg)” (2014), “Rebels” (2015) and “Lay It on Me” (2016), the latter in collaboration with Norwegian producer duo Broiler, reaching No. 2 on Norway’s VG-lista.

In 2015, her song “How Deep Is Your Love”, featuring her vocals, was selected and released by Calvin Harris and Disciples, becoming one of the most streamed and downloaded songs of the year worldwide.

She has also been the lead vocalist on tracks by notable DJs such as Sigma, Steve Aoki, “Breathe” by Jax Jones and “Places” by Martin Solveig.

In 2016, she was a judge on the Norwegian version of *Idol : Jakten på en superstjerne*. In June 2017, she signed a recording deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music label and released the single “Strongest” in October 2017; it was successful in Norway, Denmark and Sweden and earned her a nomination at the Spellemannprisen 2019 in the “Song of the Year” category.

In August 2018, she collaborated with DJ Alok on the track “Favela”, on which she sings and which was inspired by a documentary about women in Latin America.
