Duderstadt
Biography
Duderstadt is an electronic music production project formed by German brothers Dirk and Marco Duderstadt.
They began in music very early, at ages 15 and 13 respectively, performing as DJs in several clubs and eventually holding a residency at the Old Daddy in Haltern.
In early 1998, after saving for a small studio, they produced a guitar-based demo that caught the attention of Ralf Zenker (No Respect Records), who put them in touch with producer Ramon; from this collaboration came the 1999 track Toca me and the project Fragma.
The mashup of Toca me with the acapella of I Need A Miracle, officially released as Toca's Miracle, became a huge radio and club hit: No.1 in the UK, Australia, Ireland and Scandinavia, selling over one million copies and earning multiple gold and platinum certifications.
Fragma’s next single, Everytime You Need Me, sung by Maria Rubia, achieved similar success (No.3 in the UK, gold in Australia, top 20 in Germany); the album Toca was certified gold in the UK.
Alongside Fragma, the brothers produced numerous tracks and remixes for artists such as Backstreet Boys, Pulsedriver, Monoculture and Snap!, and were in high demand as DJs worldwide.
In August 2001 they founded the Evergreen-Terrace Studio, from which they released productions under the name Duderstadt. Notable tracks include Sunrise (supported by Envio, Mr.Sam, Mike Shiver), Irawadi (Tune of the Week on ‘A State of Trance’ by Armin Van Buuren, supported by Lange, Ferry Corsten) and Mahananda (again Tune of the Week for Armin Van Buuren, supported by Ferry Corsten, Solarstone).
