Biography
Hard Lights is a DJ and electronic music producer specializing in electro house and dance-pop, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His real name is Joshua Tan Ramachandram.
He achieved viral success with his rework of the classic Umbrella, produced in collaboration with Italian duo Marnik, producer Moonshine and band Ember Island. The track reached Spotify’s global Top 50, charted in more than 15 countries, accumulated over 50 million streams and earned a Platinum certification.
He also collaborated with Dutch superstar Afrojack and Italian duo Vinai on the track Up All Night, which surpassed 60 million streams and was certified Platinum.
Another notable rework is of the classic Butterfly, made with Italian phenomenon Marnik. The track totaled more than 40 million streams, was played on radio stations across Europe and Asia, ranked in the Top 30 most Shazamed tracks in Poland and Top 49 in Russia, and earned a Gold certification.
In early 2020, Hard Lights launched a striking collaboration with Kshmr on the track Over And Out. This uptempo hardstyle production reached 8 million streams on Spotify and topped Beatport’s ‘Hardstyle/Hardcore’ chart.
