Mangoo

Biography

Mangoo is the stage name of Swedish producer, disc jockey and composer Mattias Hans Brånn, from Uppsala, born 29 November 1983.

He began his career at 16 under the solo dance project Dj Mangoo. In the early 2000s his track Eurodancer became a dance classic, earning him wide recognition, especially in Scandinavia where he appeared on numerous radio and television programs, and resulting in over 10 million downloads.

In 2005 he began collaborating with Italian superstar Paolo Meneguzzi and composer Dino Melotti to write a new album. The album Musica was released in March 2007; the first single written by Mattias Brånn reached number one on Italian radio charts and was performed before 20 million viewers at the Sanremo festival. During the recording of Musica he worked with Grammy-winning sound engineer Matt Howe, known for his work with Westlife, Boyzone, The Rolling Stones and Lauryn Hill. In mid-summer 2007 the album was reissued in a duet version with English soul star Nate James.

In 2008 Mattias Brånn returned to work in Italy and Switzerland with his friend, popstar Paolo Meneguzzi. The summer of 2019 marked the return of his alias, now simply Mangoo: alongside Scandinavian producers Alan Walker, K-391 and Martin Tungevaag, he released the single Play, a reinterpretation of his 2000 hit Eurodancer.
