Vicetone
Biography
Vicetone is a Dutch DJ and producer duo formed by Ruben Den Boer (born 22 January 1992) and Victor Pool (born 9 July 1992), from the city of Groningen.
Childhood friends, Ruben and Victor met at school at age 15 and shared musical tastes. Influenced by artists such as Eric Prydz and Swedish House Mafia, they began producing their own music and, in early 2012, focused on house, specifically progressive house.
That same year they signed to the Monstercat label and released the track Heartbeat with Collin McLoughlin, which was well received. They have since remixed worldwide artists including Adele, Calvin Harris, Maroon 5 and Zedd.
In 2013 they entered the DJ Mag Top 100 for the first time at number 60. They opened for Nicky Romero‘s North American Nothing Toulouse tour and were part of the Protocol Recordings ADE 2013 Label Night lineup. In November they joined Australian duo Nervo for the #NERVOnation tour in Mexico.
In 2014 Vicetone rose to number 36 in the DJ Mag Top 100. They released tracks on Spinnin’ Records, Nicky Romero‘s Protocol Recordings and Hardwell‘s Revealed Recordings. Their major breakthrough came with their first global Beatport number-one, Let Me Feel, a collaboration with Nicky Romero. They performed at Ultra Music Festival and TomorrowWorld in Atlanta, and created the single United We Dance as the soundtrack for the Ultra Music Festival 2014 aftermovie.
At the start of 2015 they released the progressive vocal track No Way Out with singer Kat Nestel, and unveiled the Ultra Music Festival 2015 anthem, Follow Me, with JHart. Later that year they released two more singles with Kat Nestel, Angels and Nothing Stopping Me, both on Ultra Music. They also produced a remix for the game League of Legends, Project Yi, and remixed the Hardwell & Tiësto collaboration Colors.
In early 2016 they released the track Pitch Black on Spinnin’ Records.
Aiming to play their music to thousands, the duo developed a melody-driven, harmonic Big Room sound designed to work both at home and on the dancefloor.
