Biography
Eric Prydz is a Swedish DJ and producer, born Eric Sheridan Prydz on 19 July 1976 in Täby, Stockholm. He is currently based in Los Angeles, United States, and began making music at the age of nine.
He is best known for his 2004 hit Call On Me, which used a sample from the chorus of Valerie—the only one ever authorized for Winwood’s work—and topped the UK charts for five weeks. Another notable success is Proper Education, his remix of Another Brick In The Wall, which reached number two in the UK, number four in Germany, and number twelve in Sweden. More recently, the anthem Pjanoo has also marked his career.
His electronic production spans several subgenres, including house (electro house and tech house), minimal, and techno. Alongside his work as a producer, Eric Prydz runs the labels Pryda Recordings, Pryda Friends, and Mouseville, where most of his own music is released.
He also releases music under multiple aliases, including Cirez D, Eric Prydz, and Sheridan, each exploring a distinct side of his sound.
