Twenty 4 Seven

Twenty 4 Seven

Biography

Twenty 4 Seven is a Dutch project that pioneered eurodance and hip house, created in 1989 by producer Ruud van Rijen.

The original lineup included rapper Tony Dawson-Harrison (Captain Hollywood), who left the project in 1991, and singer Nance Coolen. Dawson-Harrison was replaced by rapper Stay-C (Stacey Paton), and Nance was later replaced by vocalist Stella. The project is known for signature tracks such as the hip-house I Can't Stand It! (1990) and the eurobeat Slave To The Music (1993).

Their discography includes the albums *Street Moves* (1990), *Slave To The Music* (1993), *I Wanna Show You* (1995) and *Twenty 4 Hours A Day, Seven Days A Week* (1997). In 2007 the project recorded the single Like Flames with singer Elle.

In 2010 Ruud van Rijen relaunched Twenty 4 Seven with singers Li-Ann and Miss Cherry; the latter later left to pursue a solo career. Shortly after, Stay-C rejoined the project and collaborated with Li-Ann on new material.

In 2019 the return of original singer Nance Coolen (Nance) was announced for a second parallel lineup, also including Jacks and Hanks. At the end of 2022 it was announced that former Cappella singer Kelly Overett would temporarily replace Li-Ann on the 2023 concerts.

Over the years various performers have marked the project, notably rappers MC Fixx It (Ricardo Overman) and Stay-C, and singers Nance, Stella and Elle.
