Biography
Matthew Koma, born Matthew Bair, is an American musician, producer, singer and songwriter, born June 2, 1987.
Originally from Brooklyn and raised on Long Island in the state of New York, he began writing music at nine and signed his first publishing deal at sixteen, strongly influenced by introspective rockers like Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen.
A versatile artist, his work spans electropop, hip-hop and a more classic-sounding rock; his career under his own name took off in 2013 with the catchy track One Night.
He has notably collaborated with Alesso on Years and with Hardwell on Dare You, and helped create Calling (Lose My Mind) alongside Sebastian Ingrosso and Ryan Tedder.
His most significant collaboration remains with DJ and producer Zedd on Spectrum, which enjoyed considerable radio success.
In 2013 he toured Europe in support of Ellie Goulding alongside Charli XCX.
