Marc Benjamin
Biography
Marc Benjamin, whose real name is Marc Benjamin Latupapua, is a Dutch DJ and producer of Indonesian and Moluccan descent, born on 16 January 1990 in Heemstede.
Raised in a musical family—his sister Lady Bee is also a talented DJ—he developed a passion for music early on. His career started young, landing his first residency at 16, which gave him substantial experience and his first steps on the European club circuit.
By 17, his reputation was growing and he began performing across Europe and then worldwide. Alongside a weekly residency at Amsterdam’s renowned Escape club, he focused on production, delivering originals and high-quality remixes.
His remix work caught the attention of Grammy Award–winning producer Zedd, for whom he made two reworks: “Find You” (2014) and “I Want You To Know” by Zedd and Selena Gomez—the latter first aired on the radio show of Hardwell and Dyro. The collaboration led Zedd to invite Marc Benjamin to play on the European tour for the album ‘True Colors’.
In July 2015, he teamed up with dance music icon Benny Benassi on “Who I Am” featuring Christian Burns, released on Ultra Music. Later in 2015, he partnered again with Laidback Luke for the single “Tell Me That You Love Me”, included on Luke’s album ‘Focus’.
Known for sophisticated sets that blend original “main room” sounds with a charismatic presence behind the decks, Marc Benjamin has earned support from major electronic artists such as Tiësto, Steve Angello, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Showtek and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
