Galantis

Biography

Galantis is a Swedish electronic music project, originally formed as a duo by Christian Karlsson of the group Miike Snow and Linus Eklöw, also known as Style of Eye.

The two producers and songwriters met at the Robotberget studio in Stockholm. Christian Karlsson, behind hits such as Toxic, and Linus Eklöw, responsible for successes like I Love It, joined forces out of mutual admiration.

Their collaboration began with the idea of creating a more punchy electronic style while retaining pop’s passion; they set up their studio in the Stockholm archipelago in the Baltic Sea to start recording.

Their first single, Smile, was released late 2013 on the Atlantic label. International renown came in 2014 with the release of their biggest hit, Runaway (U & I).

Their debut album, “Pharmacy”, was released in 2015 and included the singles You, Peanut Butter Jelly and Gold Dust. Their second album, “The Aviary”, came out in 2017 and produced the single No Money, the first Galantis track to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

Around that time Linus Eklöw quietly left the project, although he continued to make public appearances alongside Christian Karlsson for many performances and other projects until 2021.

Since then, Galantis has released two more albums: “Church” in 2020 and “Rx” in 2024.
