Biography
The band 5 Seconds of Summer, often abbreviated as 5SOS, is an Australian formation from Sydney. It consists of four members: Luke Hemmings (lead vocals, guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar, vocals), Calum Hood (bass, vocals) and Ashton Irwin (drums, vocals).
The group formed in 2011 and began by posting song covers on YouTube, which allowed them to build an initial online audience. Their fame reached an international scale when they were invited to accompany the band One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour in 2013.
Their first global single, She Looks So Perfect, was released in February 2014 and reached the number one spot on the charts in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Their self-titled album, released in June of the same year, also reached number one in many countries.
