Floorfilla
Biography
The Floorfilla project was born in 1998 in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in the studio of producer DJ Cerla, known for tracks such as Rotterdam and Wonder.
The sound sought by DJ Cerla required a rap sample: impressed by the club performance of the MC, percussionist and dancer from France Momo B., he invited him to the studio. From their early sessions came Anthem #1, which quickly became a club hit across Europe.
For the next release, DJ Cerla also invited Karin, a friend, dancer and singer from Germany introduced by Momo B.. Her voice combined with a powerful riff produced Anthem #2, which entered the French sales Top 10 in 2000. Anthem #3, again featuring rap by Momo B., entered the French Top 20.
The first three Anthems simultaneously charted among the first 75 places of the French Top 100. After the confirmed success of Anthem #4, the debut album United Beatz of Floorfilla was released in 2000 and reached the Top 20 in France.
While awaiting the next Anthem, DJ Cerla and Momo B. released a double single with The Hypno (taken from the album) and the new track Italodancer, inspired by 1980s Italo style.
In May 2001 the long-awaited Anthem #5 (Enter The Arena) conquered the German and French charts within weeks, confirming Floorfilla as an established dance phenomenon.
Responding to demand, a Megamix combining Anthem #2,Anthem #3,Anthem #4,Anthem #5 and The Hypno was released in 2002 in France and Germany and again reached the French Top 10.
Spring 2002 saw an unnumbered new single, Le Délire, enter the French Top 20 and receive positive airplay on Italian radio.
Late 2002 brought Technoromance in Germany and Sister Golden Hair in France, plus a picture-disc vinyl in Italy collecting both tracks. 2003 finally delivered Anthem 6.
The Italian Euro House/Italodance project includes members Elvio Moratto,Gabriele Cerlini and Bale Mondonga; Elvio Moratto left the project after the first single.
