Biography

Arty, real name Artem Stolyarov (Russian: Артём Столяров), is a Russian DJ, producer and musician born on September 28, 1989 in Engels, Saratov Oblast. He is also known under the alias Alpha 9 (stylized as ALPHA 9).

Based in Moscow, he began his career in 2009 and quickly established himself as a rising figure in the Russian trance scene. His sound, described as clean and energetic, appeals to both trance and house enthusiasts. His breakthrough was notably aided by the support of Ferry Corsten, who included the track ‘Come Home’ (produced under the pseudonym Alpha 9) in his ‘Once Upon A Night’ compilation in spring 2010.

He is particularly associated with the Anjunabeats label, on which he released a series of vinyl records. He has collaborated with many major figures in the electronic music scene, including Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, BT, Paul Van Dyk, Mat Zo and Matisse & Sadko.

His debut album, *Glorious* (2015), reached number 14 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His touring career has taken him around the world, from Europe and Australia to Indonesia and India.
