
Andy Moor
Biography
Andy Moor, born Andrew Beardmore, is a British DJ and electronic music producer from Stoke-on-Trent.
He is known for his work in trance and progressive trance, with forays into progressive house, and for a distinctive, creative sound of his own.
Over the course of his career, he has been ranked multiple times in the DJ Mag Top 100 and has won several awards, including ‘Best Dance Record’ at the International Dance Music Awards in 2006, as well as ‘Best Trance Producer’ and ‘Best Trance Track’ in 2004. A major highlight was his 2008 Grammy Awards nomination in the “Best Remixed Recording” category for his remix of Angelicus.
A prolific producer and remixer, he has collaborated with or remixed artists such as Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and Paul Oakenfold.
He founded the label AVA Recordings, launched in early 2006, and hosts the “Moor Music” podcast. His debut album, “Zero Point One”, was released in July 2012 on Armada/AVA Recordings. The 18-track album of original material includes collaborations with vocalists and producers such as Meredith Call, Carrie Skipper, Sue McLaren, Betsie Larkin, Ashley Wallbridge and Orkidea.
Andy Moor is also active under several aliases, including Louis Strange, Dub Disorder, Sworn and Dwight van Man.
