Layzee

Biography

Layzee is the stage name of Delroy Rennalls, sometimes credited under the aliases Lazy D, Lazy or Layzee. Born in Birmingham, England to Jamaican parents, he moved to Germany in the late 1980s with his brother Errol.

He is best known as a singer and rapper in the German trio Mr. President, formed in the early 1990s by producers Jens Neumann and Kai Matthiesen. The lineup brought together LayZee, Danii and T Seven, and the project is associated with Eurodance.

With Mr. President, he appeared on Up'n Away from “Up’n Away – The Album” (1995), followed by “We See the Same Sun” (1996) and “Night Club” (1997). Songs linked to that era include Coco Jamboo and Jojo Action.

In the early 2000s, LayZee moved toward a solo career and released the single Your Love (2004). He later collaborated with various musicians and producers and took part in philanthropic activities, supporting charitable causes and organizations focused on underprivileged children.

In 2023, after singer Erika Kovacs left his project, he teamed up with Hungarian singer Elza Danis and continued with new releases within the Eurodance sphere.
