Mr. President

Mr. President

Biography

Mr. President is a German euro-dance group from Bremen, best known for their hit Coco Jamboo in 1996, which was successful in many countries. The group was originally called Satellite One.

The project was led by Robin Masters and Kai Matthiesen. It featured numerous members and vocalists over the years, notably Judith Hinkelmann (aka T Seven), who left the project in 2000; Daniela Haak (aka Lady Danii), who also appeared in Kai Matthiesen’s project Reset (4); and rapper Sir Prophet Of Funk, who was removed after the success of the album Up ‘N Away due to his behavior, the two singers refusing to continue working with him; he was replaced by rapper Delroy Rennalls (aka Lazy D).

Other contributors include a singer named Nadia, whose stint was brief, and Myra, who had previously sung backing vocals for Mr. President and was also involved in the Paffendorf project; other cited members are Myriam Beckmann, George E. Jones and Anne Schröder.

Mr. President recorded several albums, including Up ‘N Away, We See The Same Sun, Nightclub, Spacegate, A Kind Of Best and Forever and One Day.

There is also a distinct project named Mr President (without a dot), from Lyon, France, that works in funk and raw soul styles, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sharon Jones or Quantic Soul Orchestra.
