Bingo Players
Biography
Bingo Players is a Dutch DJ and production duo formed by Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer, working mainly in house, electro, techno and big room.
They achieved several electronic chart successes: in November 2009 their remake of the classic Devotion reached number one on the Beatport overall chart for two weeks. In 2008 their collaboration with Chocolate Puma, Touch Me (released on Strictly Rhythm/Defected), also reached number one and was included on compilations such as Defected In The House and Sensation White. Another collaboration with Chocolate Puma, Disco Electrique (2009), reached number two on Beatport.
Their September 2008 single Get Up received support from Laidback Luke, A Trak and Crookers, and appeared on the I LOVE TECHNO! 2008 compilation mixed by Boys Noize. Their track Chop became a major club hit, reaching number two on Beatport and remaining in the top 10 for weeks.
Their remix of Wanna Go Again by ErickE dominated the Dance Tunes chart and was played by DJs such as Noir, Sander van Doorn and Patric La Funk. They also produced well-received remixes on Beatport for Joachim Garraud (Are You Ready), Sir James (Special), Ron Caroll (Bump To Dis) and Kristine W (Feel What You Want).
The duo was supported by many renowned DJs, including David Guetta, Axwell, Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig, Laidback Luke, Roger Sanchez, Sander Van Doorn and Sebastian Ingrosso. Their bookings were busy, with performances in clubs worldwide and at international festivals such as Creamfields in the UK.
Sadly, Paul Bäumer died on 17 December 2013 from cancer; Maarten Hoogstraten continued the duo’s activities thereafter.
