Alex Gaudino

Alex Gaudino, born Alessandro Alfonso Fortunato Gaudino, is an Italian house DJ and producer born on 23 January 1970 in Salerno (Campania).

He began his music industry career in 1993 at the labels Flying Records and UMM. In 1998, with the support of Giacomo Maiolini, owner of TIME Records, he founded RISE Records, which quickly became one of Europe’s most respected labels. Under his A&R direction the label signed hits by The Tamperer and Black Legend, making him the only Italian A&R to place two number-one entries in the UK sales charts. The label also enjoyed a major success with the super-hit by Robbie Rivera Bang, and these achievements earned him a 2000 nomination for Best European A&R at the European Music Awards in London.

At the same time he intensified his work as a producer: in 2003 he released two singles featuring Crystal Waters and Ultra Naté. His track Destination Unknown was played by leading DJs such as Pete Tong and Judge Jules and topped the UK Buzz charts. He is also behind projects Supacupa and Sambatucada (Gaudino da Costa), and his remix of Is it cos I'm cool for Mousse T. marked the summer of 2004.

In 2005 Little Love arrived, named Best Italian Dance Record of the Year by Musica & Dischi; the track was played exclusively by Pete Tong at Nikky Beach in Miami during WMC 2005, released by Positiva in the UK and reached the top of club charts including DJ Magazine.

2006 began with remixes for Pete Tong & Chris Cox (Deep End), Mousse T. (Horny) and James Kakande (You You You), and continued with the release of his single Reaction on Ministry of Sound and the Blue Lipstick project Head over Heels on Hed Kandi.

In 2007 his single Destination Calabria, regarded as the best dance record at Popkomm, and the 1 of 100 project So Fast, produced with Maurizio Nari and Ronnie Milani, were released by DATA/Ministry of Sound.

Alex Gaudino is also a renowned DJ, performing in prestigious clubs such as AKA/The End in London, Tenax in Florence, Pacha Ibiza (Made In Italy), Jubilee in Liverpool, China Lounge in Hamburg, Utopia in Warsaw, Club Slava in Moscow, Circolo Loco in Bilbao, and many other clubs across Italy.

He is the co-founder of the label RISE Records.
