Biography

Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, known by the stage name Kygo, is a Norwegian musician and remixer born on 11 September 1991.

He grew up in Bergen (Norway) and in Singapore. He began learning piano at age six and took lessons until he was fifteen. His interest in electronic music and remixes started after discovering Avicii at around fifteen or sixteen.

To create his music, Kygo uses the software Logic Studio. His pseudonym originated from a username assigned to him at school, generated by a computer program from his real name.

After accumulating more than 80 million plays on YouTube and SoundCloud, he was contacted by Avicii and Chris Martin of Coldplay to produce official remixes. His remix of I See Fire charted in the Romanian Top 40 for fourteen weeks, reaching number 2.

Throughout his career Kygo has collaborated with artists such as Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and Imagine Dragons, and has remixed tracks by Whitney Houston, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. His collaboration with Selena Gomez, It Ain't Me, surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

His music videos have been viewed over 3 billion times on YouTube.
