Biography
Sasha Sloan, born Alexandra Yatchenko, also known as Sasha Alex Sloan, is an American singer-songwriter born on March 11, 1995.
She grew up in the Boston area and taught herself to play piano. At age nineteen, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in songwriting.
Her breakthrough as an artist began in 2015 with her feature on the track Phoenix. She subsequently wrote for other artists and collaborated with Kygo on the 2017 song This Town, which she co-wrote.
Her solo career materialized with the release of her first EP, Sad Girl, in April 2018 on RCA Records. She followed with a second EP, Loser, in November 2018, accompanied by her first headlining tour. She made her US national television debut in February 2019 by performing her single Older on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Her third EP, Self-Portrait, was released in October 2019, exploring themes of anxiety and introspection. In 2020, she collaborated again with Kygo on the single I'll Wait for his album Golden Hour.
Her debut studio album, Only Child, was released on October 16, 2020, preceded by the single Lie. She then collaborated with Charlie Puth on Is It Just Me? in November 2020, and with Sam Hunt on when was it over? in April 2021.
Her second album, I Blame the World, was released on May 13, 2022. In March 2023, she announced her departure from RCA Records to become an independent artist and performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April of the same year.
