Simon Ward

Biography

With over a billion streams worldwide, Simon Ward is a songwriter whose lyrics draw from real‑life experience, spanning darkness to light and loss to belonging. For a decade he served as principal songwriter and frontman of Toronto’s scrappy alt folk‑pop outfit The Strumbellas, penning the Billboard #1 Alt Rock single Spirits, certified from Gold to 4×Platinum across territories. That chapter took him to major festival stages and prominent late‑night shows.
He then broadened his work as a songwriter and featured vocalist, collaborating with Armin Van Buuren and R3hab on the gold record Love We Lost. Other collaborators include Deepend, Fedde le Grand, Kaaze, Disco Face, Vilhelm Buchaus, John Muirhead and The Rehats.
His songs and vocal contributions have been placed in numerous campaigns and productions: Google Pixel, T‑Mobile, Advil, Coca‑Cola, Skoda (Italy), Universal Pictures’ Welcome To Marwen and All My Life, the Netflix Original The Half Of It, Midnight Sun (Open Road), The Sims soundtrack, American Idol, A Million Little Things, CNN, Bull (CBS), Hallmark Channel, NFL broadcasts, Fox Sports, Sportsnet, Hockey Night In Canada (CBC) and more.
