Radio Killer
Biography
Radio Killer is a Romanian music production project launched by HaHaHa Production in September 2009. Its first single, Voila, enjoyed immediate success and became the most played song of autumn 2009 in Romania, marking a spectacular debut for the collective.
The project was supported by an innovative communication campaign, “Who is Radio Killer?”, which fueled rumours and speculation about the members’ identities until spring 2010, when the seven artists were gradually revealed on the official website; the last unveiled was Paul Damixie, presented as “The Real Killer”.
The success of Voila crossed borders: the track was licensed in many Central and Eastern European countries, notably Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, France and the Czech Republic.
The collective comprises eight members. The seven revealed “Killers” are: Smiley (Killer 1), Elefunk (alias Șerban-Ionuț Cazan, Killer 2), Cell Block (Killer 3), Karie (Killer 4), Boogie Man (alias Don Baxter, Killer 5), Crocodealer (alias Alex Velea, Killer 6) and Paul Damixie (The Real Killer). The singer Lee Heart (born Cătălina Ciobanu) completes the line-up.
At the end of April 2010, Radio Killer released their second single, Be Free, which entered radio charts immediately and received an extraordinary public reception.
