Mirabela

Biography

Mirabela, also known by the stage name Mira (alias Mira), is a Romanian singer whose real name is Maria Mirabela Cismaru, born on March 12, 1995 in Rovinari.

Passionate about music since childhood, she also sang folk music at various events with her mother, a folk music soloist. Around that time, she began studying guitar as well. She took part in beauty contests and, in December 2011 at the age of 16, won the title “Miss Craciunita din Rovinari”.

In 2012, Mira competed on the TV show “Vocea Romaniei” as part of Marius Moga’s team, where she drew attention and went on to a series of collaborations. She worked with DJ Marc Ryan on So lala, with Allexinno on Loving You and In love, and with Zhao on Zi-mi ceva. In 2014, she signed with Global Records and adopted the stage name Mira.

She later released many tracks in collaboration with What’s Up, Kio, Piticu, Corina and Skizzo Skills. Among these, Fete din Balcani has surpassed 71 million views. She then followed up with other hits such as Bella, Uit de tine and O privire.

Between 2017 and 2019, she collaborated with DJ Project, reaching the top of the charts with Vina and Inima nebuna. In September 2017, she was involved in a road accident along with her DJ Project colleagues; all were hospitalized, fortunately without serious after-effects. A few months later, in 2018, her half-brother Robert Cimpoieru died at the age of 22 following a road accident.

She says she discovered her passion for music at age five by listening to her mother sing all day, and that she inherited this talent from both parents: her mother was a folk singer, and her father sang with her for a time in a group before turning to painting. She also states that she worked for five years at the Children’s Palace in Târgu Jiu in the light music department, where she studied guitar as well, and that from age 13 she traveled across the country to take part in light music festivals, winning prizes in all categories. She adds that joining “Vocea Romaniei” allowed her to enter Marius Moga’s team and reach the live rounds.

Other successful songs released by Mira include Cum de te lasa, Alo alo (with Vescan), Strazile din Bucuresti (with Florianrus), N-am sa te las, Toata noaptea, Deziubeste-ma (with Mario Fresh), Keys to my heart, invăta-ma, Dragostea nu se stinge, N-ai cum sa sti (with Vescan) and Rascolesti povesti.
