Biography
Kungs, whose real name is Valentin Brunel, is a French DJ, house music producer, and musician, born on 17 December 1996 in Toulon.
His stage name, “Kungs,” is a Latvian word meaning a sir or gentleman.
He started making music at the age of five with a djembe given to him by his parents. As a teenager, after listening to classic rock with his father, he developed a passion for electronic music, taking a particular interest in melodic sounds and carefully crafted timbres, often carried by a dominant vocal.
At seventeen, he began creating his own melodies. He then shared his remixes on social media, achieving early success with millions of listens.
Among his first online hits were his remixes of Jamming and West Coast with new vocals by Molly. His remix of Are You with Me surpassed 16 million views on YouTube.
His mainstream breakthrough came in 2016 with his remix of This Girl, which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. He then released an EP of the same name, followed by the single Don't You Know featuring Jamie N Commons.
