Klaas
Biography
Klaas, real name Klaas Gerling, is a German DJ and electronic music producer from Cologne.
His fascination with electronic sounds began in Cologne’s club scene in the late 1990s. After several releases, he took up DJing and turned to producing his energetic electro sound; his first electro vinyl, Slip & Slide, made with Micha Moor for the Cologne label Scream and Shout Recordings, quickly found its way into playlists of well-known DJs.
The releases Get Twisted and Confession reached the Top 5 of the German Dance Charts. He also produced remixes for Dr. Kucho & Gregor Salto, John Morley, Chrissi D! and Jens Lissat.
Late in 2006 he prepared a remix for the British artist The Freelance Hellraiser and collaborated on the track I Love You. His distinctive energetic style also gained traction in Switzerland, leading DJ Antoine to commission a remix of This Time, included on the release Egoiste.
He also remixed Goodbye To Yesterday, turning the pop song into an electronic house club mix. Despite remixes for Eddie Thoneick, Erick Decks and Aston Martinez, he remained focused on his own productions.
In April 2007 the release Music is Dope, produced by Klaas & Micha Moor, arrived with powerful vocals and sounds. For Micha Moor he also delivered a double remake of the upcoming track Space, offering two massive, separate mixes; the Klaas Club Mix became a worldwide hit, topping the Beatport and German Dance Charts for several weeks.
In November 2007 his third highly anticipated solo single, The Way, was released. With three solid club mixes he demonstrated his range in electro house, and the track reached No. 2 on the German Dance Charts in its first week.
After a three-week DJ tour in Australia and New Zealand, new remixes of classics such as Infinity, Crazy Paris and Sleeping Satellite were awaited.
