Biography
Kathy Phillips, born Kathy Filippeos, is a vocal artist active in the dance and pop genres.
She pursued a stage career in the United States and Canada, performing as an opening act for international artists such as John Snow, Ian Van Dahl, and DJ Sammy. Among her notable performances are singing the national anthems for the Toronto Raptors and appearances at the annual Toronto Pride Parade.
Her debut single, I Wish, was released in the United States by Robbins Entertainment/BMG. In its first week, it entered the Billboard charts and major US dance pool charts, even reaching number one on the CD single sales chart (Dance Music Billboard Charts). This success led to a national television advertising campaign for IBM in Canada, featuring Kathy Phillips and her hit song.
Her follow-up single, Capture, was also a major success in Canada, receiving significant airplay on the major dance station Z103.5. More recently, her track Am I Alive reached the Top 10 of the US Dance Club charts.
She has lent her voice to various successful compilations, earning her one platinum and two gold records to date. One of her latest projects includes a collaboration with fitness guru Richard Simmons.
