Biography
Jeroen Krom, known by the stage name Jerome, was a Dutch DJ, producer and remixer.
He began his DJ career at age 17 during the hip-hop “Fresh to Impress” nights at Paradiso in Amsterdam and also played numerous fashion shows across the Netherlands; with the rise of house music he shifted his focus to that energetic form of dance music.
He held a residency of more than three years at Dwiezels in Haarlem, blending funky house grooves with melodic techno and quickly becoming a recognised figure on the DJ scene.
He performed at major events such as Tortured (The End, London), Impulz, DanceValley, Awakenings in the Netherlands, I Love Techno in Belgium and served as the resident DJ for the technobeachpartys Syntech.
A respected producer and remixer with a distinctive style, his records often entered the charts; his solo projects were released on labels such as Alola, Musicman, 100% Pure, Outland, PhysicalSoul, Placktownsounds, Fierce and MusicmanPocket. He recently remixed for artists like Jamie Anderson, Laidback Luke, Steve Rachmad and Vince Watson.
Known for a dynamic, deep and groovy flow, he was a regular at clubs and parties across Europe.
Since August 2005, Jeroen Krom was the official owner of the Outland Records shop in Amsterdam and revived the shop’s label, Outland Records.
Jeroen Krom died on 22 December 2024.
