Biography
Jake Miller, born on November 28, 1992 in Weston, Florida, is an American singer, rapper, musician, and songwriter from Miami. Self-taught, he learned to play drums and guitar at a young age. In January 2011, he posted his first music videos on YouTube, creating an immediate buzz that caught the attention of industry professionals.
He has built a dedicated fanbase, the “Millertary,” with millions of followers on social media. He independently released the EPs *Spotlight* (2012) and *The Road Less Traveled* (2013), the latter debuting at number 1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart. His album *Us Against Them* (2013) sold over 33,000 copies and reached number 5 on the Billboard Rap chart.
Named an MTV “Ones to Watch” artist in 2014, he has shared the stage with artists like Mac Miller, Flo Rida, and Snoop Dogg (as an opening act in 2011), performing for crowds of over 200,000 people at events like the Calle Ocho Festival in Miami. He completed a sold-out 43-date tour of House of Blues venues before signing with Warner Bros. Records. His single “First Flight Home” was released on July 5. He cites Eminem, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Drake as influences.
