Biography
FiNCH, also known as Finch Asozial, is the stage name of Nils Wehowsky, born on 13 April 1990 in Frankfurt (Oder). He grew up in Fürstenwalde/Spree, trained as a mechatronics technician, then worked for five years in the private sector before starting studies in electrical engineering. Since 2013 he has lived in Berlin, having moved there for professional reasons.
He first gained wider attention through his participation in the battle-rap format “Rap am Mittwoch”. From 2014 onward, he has regularly uploaded his own songs to YouTube. His debut single Ostdeutscher Hasselhoff was released in August 2016. In August 2018, the EP “Fliesentisch Romantik” followed; that same year he took part in the “TopTierTakeover”, which included a battle against Clep (the video surpassed one million views).
His chart breakthrough came with the single Abfahrt (December 2018), which reached No. 63 in the German singles chart after two weeks; the music video exceeded 20 million views. In 2021 he achieved his biggest chart success to date with Herzalarm, featuring elements associated with 1990s Happy hardcore and created in collaboration with Blümchen. In early May 2021, he announced via Instagram that he would perform only under the name FiNCH going forward; the single Keine bösen Wörter was released without the “Asozial” add-on, explaining that he did not want people to prejudge his music without knowing him or having heard it.
His third album “Rummelbums” was released on 17 February 2022 and reached No. 1 in Germany. On 20 April 2023, he released “Dorfdisko zwei”, which also topped the German charts. In 2023, he said he is the father of a daughter born in late 2022. On the night of 4 August 2024, he appeared in a closing battle against Hämatom at Wacken Open Air. In October 2024, he took part in the second season of “Big Brother Knossi Edition” and finished in third place.
In December 2025, he released the single Kein Bock auf Krieg and spoke out against the discussed reintroduction of compulsory military service in Germany; a photo showing him with Sahra Wagenknecht sparked debate among fans.
